Artist Statement

My work is influenced by the natural world and its relationship with social and community factors. I approach my creative process through attentive observation of community and the connection to the natural world. This reflects a fascination with the resilience of natural systems, as they persist and thrive despite obstacles. In recent times, my artistic focus has shifted towards examining the human impact on the environment, addressing pressing issues such as pollution and the overuse of plastics

I use various mediums such as silver, copper, glass and ceramic in my work, and I take pleasure in experimenting with a range of ceramic methods. I enjoy throwing on the wheel and hand building forms as they are an essential part of my work as well, offering flexibility and a hands-on approach that imparts distinctive character to each piece.

Active participation within my local community is a cornerstone of my practice. I am committed to fostering creativity and sharing my passion for jewellery and ceramics by running creative workshops. These sessions provide an opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds to explore their own artistic potential, engage with different mediums and learn various techniques in a supportive environment. Through these workshops, I seek to encourage collective creativity, nurture a sense of community, and help others discover the joy and fulfilment that comes from working with their hands.
